how to use USB disk in HP-ux

Im my visualize c3600, two usb ports (A and B)are located on the mainboard. I got an usb hub(connected with port A),in which 1# port for keyboard ,2# port for mouse. I connected a 40G usb disk to port B. But I can't use the usb disk either.

Re: how to use USB disk in HP-ux

And you won't be able to!

HP-UX, especially HP-UX 10.20, does NOT support any USB devices other than a keyboard and a mouse.

HP-UX has no drivers for anything else.

If you need extra disk space you would be better off getting an external SCSI disk.

HI,
I don't think this will work. I thought the usb ports are for keyboard and mouse only.

Even if supported you would require the drivers and they are probably not available for 10.20.

Re: how to use USB disk in HP-ux

Are there plans to support attachable storage via USB on enterprise servers?
Would be a nice feature for instant backups and restores.

Re: how to use USB disk in HP-ux

@Ralph:
have a look at http://docs.hp.com/en/oshpux11iv2.html#USB-00

@cys691018:
HP-UX 11.23 will support *some* devices connected to the USB port, but this OS version won't run on a workstation ;-(

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
