HP RP8400 with HPUX11.11 OS compatability with IEEE 802.3ad

HP RP8400Server rnning HPUX 11.11. Need to know if the IEEE 802.3ad card is compatabile with this server. Want to use the card to do network aggregation.

What type of card...Part number?

IEEE 802.3ad is a standard.

Only HP I/O cards are compatible with the rp8400 so a non-HP card will very likely not have a driver. The 802.3ad standard defines LAN card aggregation which the HP product APA (Auto-Port Aggegregation) provides. APA is compatible with 802.3ad, also known as LACP protocol. Here is the document:

To expand on Bill's comment - and not just _an_ HP I/O cards - they must be cards actually sold for systems running HP-UX. Don't count on an "HP" card sold for a ProLiant to be claimed by the HP-UX drivers.
