HP serviceguard Oracle DB package configuration procedures
please help me on this issue:
I have an Oracle Database installed on an hp unix itanium server. Now the customer has bought another server with the same configuration and ask me to configure an HP serviceguard Oracle DB package to float on both nodes.
Please let me know the procedures to take to achieve that.
I know how to follow procedures to do new HP serviceguard and Oracle DB package installation and configuration from scratch with both nodes available at the initial stage, but in this case Oracle DB has already been setup without the cluster and now they just bought a second node asking me to form the cluster with it. Please help.
Regards,
Mawusse

Re: HP serviceguard Oracle DB package configuration procedures
I suggest you to use Oracle Clusterware instead of HP SG. with clusterware it is even easier to extend to RAC...

Re: HP serviceguard Oracle DB package configuration procedures
http://www.oracle.com/pls/db111/portal.portal_db?selected=16&frame=#oracle_clusterware
but if you are familiar with HP SG, then use this.
I think you cannot do the change without any downtime.

Re: HP serviceguard Oracle DB package configuration procedures
I am familiar with MC/SG, so implementing the Oracle Clusterware may consume my time enormously with many challenges and researches.
Please give me straight forward procedures for the MC/SG, taking into consideration the fact that it should be implemented with an existing production Oracle Database.
Best Regards,
Mawusse

Re: HP serviceguard Oracle DB package configuration procedures
Make a service gaurd cluster.
Configure a package.
you need to share the devices between two nodes.
find attached step by step cluster and Package configuration.
