HP-UX 10.20 and JetAdmin Print Server
I want to install HP-JetAdmin print server
on my hp-ux, the printer IP address is
192.168.1.200, when i try to install and
configure it using HP-Jetadmin, after
configuring and when i press 'q', it says
do you want to quit without configuring
queue ?
and if i say yes then no printer is added.
tell me how to install printer using
jetadmin
Thanks,
Amit.

Re: HP-UX 10.20 and JetAdmin Print Server
Sorry for the short answer. After config. press 0 to configure, the system will ask if the scheduler can be stopped to add the queue and answer yes. Now your printer will be configured.

Gideon

Re: HP-UX 10.20 and JetAdmin Print Server
I did that but after that when i gave the
print command its in queue not getting
printed.
I did'nt configured BOOTP or TFTP but
using 3 option of jetadmin, (.i.e. to
local spooler)
Apart from this can u please tell me
why my parallel port is not getting
detected by SAM though it is listed under
IOSCAN.
i can even configure the printer on
parallel port as well but how to make SAM
to see parallel port.
THanks,
Amit

Re: HP-UX 10.20 and JetAdmin Print Server
you must use 1 option in the jetadmin and add your printserver and after add you printer using 3 option. Your printserver's addres must be in /etc/hosts

Re: HP-UX 10.20 and JetAdmin Print Server
Sorry to bother again.
I dont know what i did but it is showing
a printer in the list by the name plotter
and location /dev/null
after that i again tried to install new
printer, i got added into system
but all of my request are still going to
the one by name plotter.
and i am not getting any output on the
printer.
I deleted all the printers but when i try
to delete "plotter" it says it does not
exist but it is still in the list.
tell me how to delete this printer.
THanks,
Amit.

Re: HP-UX 10.20 and JetAdmin Print Server
I have given the command
lpadmin -xplotter
but it says noexistent printer.
I deleted all the files from the system
manually but still when i try to add
printer, I am able to add it but again
it is getting attached to /dev/null.
The one to which plotter was attached.
Is there any way to clean the entire
entries from the system.
Even when i give print and check it thru
lpstat -t
it says:
plotter noexistent
disable
reason unknown.
and for the new printer which i add
lpstat -t output is:
hp750c attached to : /dev/null
Please tell me how should i resolve
Also, if some one knows how to configure
printer on serial/parallel port on
HP-UX 10.20 running on Visualize C3000.
Thanks,
Amit.

Re: HP-UX 10.20 and JetAdmin Print Server
Checked the /etc/lp folder
It contains few folder but all of them
are empty.
When i see the SAM it says no printer
installed on the system.
But when i give lpstat -t on command
prompt
it displays :
scheduler is running
no system default destination.
printer plotter is disabled since march 26
fence 0
priority 0
Why it is saying plotter is disabled when
it does not exists.
Please help me.
Thanks,
Amit
