HP-UX 11.23 pa-risc , DB2 V9 UDB Clustering

Hi,
We want to use DB2 V9 on our HP-UX 11.23 pa-risc systems. We need "Service Guard" software for clustering. Is it possible to cluster if we use DB2 V9. If not, is there different possibility for clustering?

Thanks

Hi Bozlagan

You can cluster it with ServiceGuard
you should customize SG package control script to start and stop DB2 database

Re: HP-UX 11.23 pa-risc , DB2 V9 UDB Clustering

Hi,
HP persons said me ServiceGuard is not redy for using with DB2 V9. They said SG is revised to use with DB2 V9.
But this may take long time. Therefore we need an alternate clustering.

Is there any other clustering method for DB2 V9 instead of SG?

Thanks

Hi Bozlagan

What kind of cluster do you need?
I configured SG with many applications officially or unofficially (MySQL, tomcat etc)

Re: HP-UX 11.23 pa-risc , DB2 V9 UDB Clustering

Hi SULUHAN,

We will use EVA disk unit to preserve data.

Both server will use same EVA disk unit.
Both servers will have DB2 V9 and NetWeaver EP softwares.

If active server crashes, other must take operations automatically.Newly activated server's DB2 must take operations over data on EVA. And same for NetWeaver.

Thanks.

Hi

If your applications support to start other node when the first node crashed, SG can handle it. Becaue your requirements are traditional active/passive cluster.
