HP-UX 11i v1 June 06 patches causing problems with telent

I have installed the June 06 patches for HP-UX 11i v1 and its causing terrible problems.

Telnet and ftp services no longer working.
Any ideas how I can fix this?

have not had these 'terrible problems', but I only did my update as a test and then backed it out.

Did you have to patch or can you revert to pre-patch?

Might help to pin-point problems if you gave more details (log/error messages etc.)
One problem at a time.

Hi This is a test server too
and I just installes the quality pack with patch match target and default options.

How do you roll back these patches?

The syslog shows the following info:

rcpbind: init_transport: check binding for udp, tcp, ticlts, licotsort, ticots

I have tried restarting inetd and this shows that inted adds services for tcp etd but the services are not working.

if you used swinstall you should be able to use swremove to remove your patches.

What/how have you tested ?

Hi,

From 11.00 onwards, when you install patches do not do "match what target has". Instead go into "manage patch selection" and select the option to install patches only for the component on th sever.

If you have an ignite backup, restore from ignite and start again.It is always a good idea to create an ignite recovery tape before patch install.
