How can I tell which version of HP-UX 11i is running on a HP A500 machine?

#getconf KERNEL_BITS
to determine OS version.

Hi,

You can do this [as root]:

# getconf KERNEL_BITS

You can also try this [again as root]:

# file /stand/vmunix
/stand/vmunix: ELF-64 executable object file - PA-RISC 2.0 (LP64)

If you have Glance installed it will also tell you.

it will return 32 if you are running 32bit

or 64 if you are running 64bit
