HP-UX and SDLT

Hi Everyone,

I'm been searching around about information on SDLT and HP-UX. Does anyone have a link to information on what tape drives HP-UX 11.00 supports, such as SDLT, SDLT/2, LTO, etc.

I've been told that HP-UX 11.00 won't support SDLT until the end of this year. That is, on the level of having agent s/w running on the server (hope this makes sense).

Regards,

Joanne

Re: HP-UX and SDLT

I can't find the OS matrix, however this is the omniback matrix and does not say anything about particular versions of HP-UX, just HP-UX itself. You could make your own conclusions.....

Re: HP-UX and SDLT

Dear Joanne,

HP-UX 11.0 officially does not support SDLT-1 at present.
Tape drives supported are: DAT24/DAT40/DLT80/DLTVS80/LTO-Ultrium-1.

Re: HP-UX and SDLT

Hi Jo,

We have just decommissioned our Super DLTs in favour of LTO-Ultrim Drives.

Patch PHKL_22287 adds support for some DLT Drives and Ultriums (there is a later patch version).

Our SuperDLTs worked fine on 11.0 and 11.11, but the Fibre Bridges we used were a real pain (Ioscan would reset the SCSI buses). Get all the latest patches, and turn off disk probing (stm stuff).
