HP-UX Client to Redhat 7.2.4-10 NFS Server

I've searched the archives and couldn't find anything related.

I have an application that fails to obtain a lock when issuing a lockf() from a HP11 client to the RH server. It seems as tough lockf() is not working. What do I need to do? I tried setting the permission of the file to lock to 777 - no joy. The error is EACCES which states the file is already locked or a permission error.
