SolutionThere are a lot of products out there and considerable overlap between them. Quite often the choice comes down to personal preference but I tend to stick with HP products. It makes it easier in support situations.

There are a few monitoring tools available:
I would add BMC Patrol and sysload...
Depending the purpose I would advise you to have at least glance (for performance/analizing a system)
The rest depends on how much resource ($$$) you have and the needs
For basic/common tasks I find Bigbrother and MRTG suitable (And used to be free, I dont know now)
To see what is going on in your oracle instances Quest's TOAD is the tool
(Quest have Big brother now)
