HP-UX output on lcd monitor

Hi Good day guys!

need some help on my rx4640 machine with OS hpux 11iv3. The problem is whenever i bootup the machine the print output after efi main menu redirect to my laptop's telnet connection.

i want to view the output of the screen in my lcd connected to the rx4640. the efi boot maintenance manager ver. 1.10 [14.61]

i dont see any console configuration on the efi option.

need help badly. thanks in advance

the CDE screen for the 11.31 will be availbale only if u have the CDE bundle installed. are u able to open an Xmanager session of the server?

u must have the CDE bundle CDE English ... like that to have the CDE Working.

Have you tried to use the EFI menu to select console output devices?

toggle the * for consout and conserr for the before last entry listed?

If you need further help, perhpas capture and share the output from
- EFI Boot Maintenance Manager
- Select the Console Output Device(s)
Attach as text file?

i have checked the swlist and no cde-english is included.

been trying to reinstall but the system was unable to continue the installation because some of the fileset have been already installed.

any other way to resolved this? Thanks

Then you install CDE.

You don't reinstall, you install. It would help if you told us what you tried and what errors you got.

You see 11.31 does not install CDE by default. Makes it kind of hard to use the monitor. CDE is on the DVD for 11.31 and can simply be installed with an swinstall -i command and a few choices on the menu.

hi thanks yup i dont have CDE installed in the machine. But the other concern is when i installed the cde-english the installation won't continue bacause of some of its patch is already installed.

i dont expect that the 11iv3 would be like this.

Can you show us the error messages? swinstall should always continue. It wouldn't install something if it was already there.

Checked your Input and Output Devices in EFI

Example:

booting the Server will get the EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface)

Boot option maintenance menu <- select this one !

Select Active Console Output Devices <- select this one !
Select Active Console Input Devices <- select this one !

Select the Console Output Device(s)
* Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(2|0) <- VGA - port

Select the Console Input Device(s)
* Acpi(HWP0002,0)/Pci(1|1) <- USB - Keyboard

Save Settings to NVRAM before you leave the window.
