Re: HP-UX reboot for RP5700
Log on to the MP and issue a "rs".
Consider this:
For the OS this is a real reset, not a clean shutdown.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP-UX reboot for RP5700
Based on the instruction given, at
Main Menu: Enter command or menu >
I type bo pri like
Main Menu: Enter command or menu > bo pri
and i press enter. Unfortunately, there's nothing appeared afterward. It stuck at that prompt.
What shall i do. Did I'm suppose to wait or something bad happen to my HP-UX. How can i get into single user mode if I cannot pass that prompt

You can give shutdown privilege to other ordinary user so that user can restart the machine without root passwd or root login.

Re: HP-UX reboot for RP5700
For entering in single user mode , no passwd is need. You can change root password without knowing old password using the command ├в passwd root ├в

Re: HP-UX reboot for RP5700
You can give shutdown privilege to any ordinary user . So that user account can reboot or shutdown the server without root login. Please check the file /etc/shutdown.allow.

Davis Paul.
