Product # : T1471AA
Version : A.03.61.002
Description: HP-UX Secure Shell
on HP-UX 11.00 CD Package Sept. 2003.
Every time i'm logging in to the system using
ssh. I'm getting the following message:
-----------------------------------------
SSH Secure Shell 3.0.0 (Build 196)
Copyright (c) 2000-2001 SSH Communications Security Corp - http://www.ssh.com/
This is a commercial version and requires a license from SSH Communications Security Corp.
This program uses RSA BSAFE® Crypto-C by RSA Security Inc.
---------------------------------
does this mean
a) i need to purchase a additional license from www.ssh.com for this package?
or
b) this license is included in the HP-UX fee
I'm not feeling well seeing such messages,
but never seeing a licenses sheet.
In case somebody could explain this, it
would be a great help.
Thanks in advance,
Herbe

Re: HP-UX secure shell requires a licenses ? !
yes i've installed all the requiered patches.
This sounds like a response center engineer response. Keep him busy :-)
Hello Elmar P. Kolkman,
this wasn't the question. In an business environment very often "open" software is unfortunately not allowed. the installed version based on openssh has at least the official HP label. which increase very often the acceptance.
Hello Stefan Farrelly,
where can i find a confirmation, that this
HP-UX secure shell package doesn't requiere a licenses. An software audit with this message "licenses requiered" and no licenses sheet/paper will fail.
