I want to ask that , is there any other link about statistics or contributings somethings like open source projects all related Unix world other than Merijn's ?
if yes somebody let us know ?

As an example I want to put myself very messy place like a portal , but have some usefull things there: (includes Merijn and some others links)


BTW , thank Merijn and other friends here who contributed lots of work and created resources to use in daily works.

We have had a number of sysadmin daily task and scripts threads, but I can not remember a specific thread or place on the itrc where you can submit links to your favorite Unix documentation and tools.

Clemens just mailed me that the CMVE server that co-hosts my site just crashed and is unlikely to be recovered in the near future, which effectively means that only one single publicly available mirror is left.

If someone else feels comfortable to host a mirror for HP-UX software feel free to contact me off-forum ( h dot m dot brand at xs4all dot nl )

The main mirror on http://mirrors.develooper.com/hpux/ serves at between 18 and 180 Gb a month, and the current disk space is ± 6.05 Gb (1104 files).

Our company does not have the resources to allow that bandwidth usage for third parties.

I have just moved to a much better host and upload bandwidth is not a huge issue.

I will get the mirror software working once again and report back.

I have not decided if I'll password protect it to keep google out or not. But if you guys are willing to post the authentication information, we can go that way.

My host as 2 TB of traffic allowed per month.

Something went wrong in an earlier phase (I think I /might/ know when and why, but I cannot rewind time). I got a report that some files were not able to extract. I managed to get a lot of files back from a 2005 backup, but as they are really really old (<= Apr 2005), some are only available from the backup in a damaged stage. As I never checked the content of files (and size didn't seem to have changed), I ever noticed.

The rsync daemon however did not run because we had a power fail. I just restarted the bloody thing. Mirrors should be in sync by tomorrow 06:00 MET.

The more I work on Itanium, the better I understand why OpenSource people think that PA-RISC porting is difficult. It sure has some quircks and edge-cases, but for now ...

That site will not provide perl builds with thread support.

I'm not willing to take a 19% performance hit on any script that doesn't need threads.
I never ever needed thread support in Perl, which explains me not wanting the 19% penalty.

Those who want thread support either use the perl for HP's software depot's, from the HP porting center, or from ActiveState.

perl-5.12.2 has now been uploaded for HP-UX-11.31. The depot contains both 64bit and 32bit perl.

I'll hope to be able to build the rest shortly.

Meanwhile also 5.12.2 for 11.23-ipf, 11.11-pa, and 11.00-pa have also been uploaded. Their depots contain both 32 and 64bit versions of perl.

Currently building for 10.20. But that wil take a few more days to finish. Old boxes are really slow. I won't announce it here when it is done. Just check my site.

The next version of perl is most likely 5.12.3, but it is possible that 5.14.0 - which is planned for spring 2011 - will be released earlier, as so far no significant changes have dripped back from development to 5.12.x.

I'm very happy to be able to announce the release of perl-5.14.0, just two weeks over the planned date.

I have already uploaded the builds for HP-UX 11.31-IPF and 11.23-IPF and will probably finish the builds for 11.11-PA, 11.00-PA and 10.20-PA very soon.

The syncer was down last week, so I had to restart it. Mirrors should catch up within the next 24 hours.
