HP-UX Start-up interupt
How can I interupt/abort the task via key sequence rather than wait.
I'd prefer also that the remaining tasks complete.
> Configuring all unconfigured software filesets ............ [busy]
Thanks,
Bill

Re: HP-UX Start-up interupt
ctrl-shift-break I think.
ctrl-alt-del will give you the prompt directly (not completing the rest of the tasks)
I can't remember whether ctrl-shift-bksp does something

Re: HP-UX Start-up interupt
If you really want to break out, then use the ctl-shift-pipe sequence, but this does NOT allow it to continue throught the rest of the steps.

Re: HP-UX Start-up interupt
ctrl alt delete will work!
The break key on my pc requires at least Five key sequences.. I dont have enough fingers to make it..
I'll have to ask for help!
But I'll try on next reboot and give points then!
Later,
Bill

Re: HP-UX Start-up interupt
I echo what Melvyn says. I'd be patient and let the scripts run. On patch bundles with perhaps 100 paths applied, I figure 20 minutes on a good size K-server for this process alone. YMMV, obviously.
Regards!

Running swconfig aborts too.

Re: HP-UX Start-up interupt
In case it is still running;-)
How about killing the swinstall process itself? (through another telnet session).
Cntl } breaks telnet session,
so it should be of help.
