Hallo,
are there two different operating systems HP-UX 11.00 <-> B11.00 or are there two different names for the same thing?
Background: Our Catia V4 workstation (3D-CAD-Software) is running HP-UX B11.00 but I have no HP-UX cdroms. Now I got an offer to buy cdroms with HP-UX 11.00 (without B). I found information in the Internet, that there is a HP-UX 11.00 version, which doesn't support Open-GL 3D-grafikcards.
Sincerely Yours
Jan Christoph

Solution
The versions are the same, commonly referred to as just HP-UX 11.0, but technically called HP-UX B11.0.
I, however, wouldn't be investing very much money in 11.0 media. That version is unsupported as of the end of this year:

If you could find 11.11 or newer CD's, that would be worth something.

Re: HP-UX Version
Jan Christoph,
This link will tell you also the supported versions that HP ever made:
http://www.hp.com/softwarereleases/releases-media2/history/slide2.html
As you will notice and stated above, 11.00 is almost out of support, and it was out of sales for a while by HP.
Remember that support is one of the biggest factors when running a production environment.
Regards,
Jaime.
