Informix database restore problem from tape

I checked few times ontape -r.
It says that backup is corrupted.
Generally speaking.
ontape -s works fine,
tar -cvf /tape works fine as well
and tar -xvf /tape works fine.
I wonder if it is not informix problem.
I have Ultrium II tape.

It could be caused by many things, such as a dodgy tape, or a bug in ontape.

Check the IBM Informix support website.

One possible solution was to increase the TAPEBLK parameter in ontape -s
