hppi, jetadmin, clj3700, banner printing

CLJ 3700 Printer
EN 3700 connection.

I am trying to configure a CLJ 3700 printer with a banner page. i have only found that the script for dumb_printer_plotter with carrige return. there is no banner in this script.
we also downloaded the new script for the 3700 which when used receives the same error as all of the other PCL scripts. "Language unknown".
we can connect the printer to an EMLX queue and select "dumb" as the model from SAM. it works with a banner but the queue is needed on another application.

Why can't HPPI use SAM printer scripts?

HPPI uses 2 scripts for a queue and sam 1

That is why they are not interchangable

/etc/lp/interface/printer does the networking and /etc/lp/interface/model.orig/printer doe sthe real printig

try the net_genericprinter script

Net_genericprinter has been tried with the same results. an error is received on the front panel of the clj3700 "language not available.
