HPUX 10.20 Upgrade errors

I used swinstall to load the critical patch bundle named 'XSW800HWCR1020_10.20_800.depot' that errored (don't know why) and left my server unusable. I've booted into single user but can't see what to fix. The error that I continue to receive, when running and util is
'/usr/lib/dld.sl: Bad magic number for shared library: /usr/lib/libc.1
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Exec format error
Abort(coredump)'

Is there any way to bring this back ?

I've run fsck successfully ...

Hi,

I have faced the same kind of problem when i tried to install the same series of patches long back.
I have loaded the XSWCR patches in an HP 9000 D270 server and after restart SAM stopped working and system was behaving in a strange way. I have retrieved the system with Support CD, and then again tried applying the same patches from the same CD, again the same problem came in. Then i got the system retrieved again,with Support CD and then applied the XSWCR patches from an other CD and it worked fine - only reason that time the problem has got choked in should be the corrupted media/software contained in the HP CD's.

Hi,
this is because you haven't installed the dependencies patches. so reboot the machine interrupt the boot(10 sec's waiting time) and get into ISL>.
ISL> hpux /stand/vmunix.prev
This will boot the machine from previous kernel. download all the dependencies patches nad install.
ps:make sure you have vmunix.prev file in /stand

Hi and Thanks but....

I can't seem to load anything at all let alone run swremove. I tried to boot as Ravi suggested (ISL> hpux /stand/vmunix.prev) but get the same results. This file does exist in the stand directory.

Is there anyway to back out this attempted patch to fix my system ???
