HPUX 11.0 64bit - Installation on k360
Is there any issue while loading HP-UX 11.0 64bit version on HP9000/K360 ?. I
have tried installing using Install CD, but it is not at all giving the 64bit
option at the begining.
Is there any particular version which required for K360 in terms of firmware
version, PDC ?

Re: HPUX 11.0 64bit - Installation on k360
/etc/.supported_bits.
I believe your problem is that the model string is incorrectly set in the PDC
(Processor Dependant Code).
If this is so, you will have to have it reset by an HP engineer.
A way to check is that the K360 should report the following string from the
model command:
9000/800/K360
There must be no "hidden" characters, and the K must be in upper case.
As a test do:
model |wc -c
It should give you the answer 14, if not, then the model string is definitely
wrong.

Re: HPUX 11.0 64bit - Installation on k360
9000/817/K360
This will NOT allow 64bit HP-UX to be available for loading and will require
and HP engineer to change the model string in the PDC.

Body:
The 9000 K360 does support 64bit version of HP-UX 11.0, as in
/etc/.supported_bits.

Re: HPUX 11.0 64bit - Installation on k360
Model K360 9000/800/K360
This is not something that you can change on your own. You must call HP HW
Support to have them send an HP Customer Engineer out to your site. There he
can run a utility call ss_config to change that model script for you.
