I am getting a following error while installing HPUX11.00 from CD on D370Box.
Error comes, when I refer to CD Drive for booting-
ENTRY_INIT not founf
Status =-4
Before that syste was running fine with hpux 10.20 OS.
Pls suggest.

Re: hpux 11.00 installation on D370
Could you use another CD or another CD-device ? At least try to clean up both them ?
Sorry for the stupid question, but are you sure that you used thr right path ? could you please copy an output of the command SEARCH ?
Good Luck

Re: hpux 11.00 installation on D370
I tried the Path in the "P" format as well as by giving the complete path as -
8/16/5.2.0
When I specify the following path - LED blinks for sometime and then throws an error .
Regards,
Umesh

Re: hpux 11.00 installation on D370
What is the name of the CD which you use ?
This should be something like CORE OS.
Do you have a mobile CD-ROM ? Could you connect it to the computer and try to boot from it ?
If you use the right CD, the problem 99% is the CD-drive.
Could you boot from the old system disk and check the CD-drive ?

Re: hpux 11.00 installation on D370
How are you? Good to hear from you after such a long time.
1) The Minimum PDC version required in D370 for loading HP-UX 11.00 is 38.30. If the system is not in this version, you need to update that first.
2)You may not be using the "Install & core-OS" CD.
3) The CD itself is bad, try with another Install CD.
4) The CDROM drive is bad. Replace th drive.
Check the problem in this order and you will most probably find your solution.
Cheers,
Mohan.
P.S. Once your problem is solved, please remember to assign points for people who had replied here :)

Re: hpux 11.00 installation on D370
1)CD is bad or not (check it in some other mc/s
2)CD drive is compatible or bad ....try swapping this drive with a known good one
3)I also not remove my suspect from mafunctioning controller (may be part of Mother board/jumper settings, farmware revision etc.
Thanks,
