Hi I have an L2000 running 11.11
VG00 has 4 disks
one of the disks c2t0d0 is only used by dump lvol and not mirrored
c2t0d0 is reporting errors and needs to be replaced.
My plan is:
#pvchange -a N /dev/dsk/c2t0d0
SWAP THE DISK
#vgcfgrestore -n /dev/vg00 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0
#pvchange -a y /dev/dsk/c2t0d0
#vgchange -a y /dev/vg00
#lvlnboot -R
Thanks in advance for your help

Re: hpux 11.11 - Dump Lvol Bad disk
Because the disk is not mirrored and not already dead, the system will likely crash if you remove the disk online.
I would shutdown, replace the disk, boot into LVM maintenance mode, do the vgcfgrestore and then boot again.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
