There is a security bulletin on Samba and I strongly recommend you read it and follow it during setup and post installation work.

When in doubt, run http://localhost:901/ (if your swat is running. You can check by going to /etc/inetd.conf).

Don't forget that an HTML version of O'Reilly's Using Samba book is available via SWAT if you've got CIFS/9000 installed.
