HPUX 11 upgrade...

We would like upgrade our environment from HPUX 10.20 to HPUX 11. For capacity planning we would like to know, how much more memory of CPU power will be required more when we upgrade this.
I am sure there should be some calculation or some guidelines avilable for this.
Can some body help us.
Thanks in advance.

Re: HPUX 11 upgrade...

Other than memory differences, there is another issue.

I never recommend an "Upgrade" of any UNIX! I have had many problems after upgrading 10.20 to 11.0, namely in file system capacities.

I know HP tries very hard to make this process flawless, but I have run into mysterious bugs and problems which could only be resolved by reloading UNIX.

Since you have to plan for the box as if it's a cold install, I have found it much easier to take the extra 5 minutes and really cold install!

Re: HPUX 11 upgrade...

I think I should have made more clear. We are planning for cold install only, but here as capacity planning point of view we need to know how much memory or CPU power we will be needed more when we will upgrade this. As we have fair idea of upgrading/installing and general procedures but not sure what is the figures we are looking at, like e.g. 20% more memory or 10% more cpu, (if we use the same existing hardware configs or if this figure is intresting then may be new hardware or hardware upgrade ???).
Thanks.

I guess you have to give the hardware details of the machine you are trying to upgrade to 11
