Re: HPUX 11i v1, operating environments
Mission Critical is a step up for the Enterprise OE.
If you want to used Mission Critical you will have to upgrade the OS.
Usually going to a version with more features requires a license for it.

jaime.

Re: HPUX 11i v1, operating environments
I mean, does the mission critical OE media kit, contain the enterprise OE as well ??
Of course I don't want to violate my license, at least, my support will get terminated !!

Re: HPUX 11i v1, operating environments
Don't worry.
Mission Critical is Enterprise plus more features.
To unlock those new features, you probably need a codeword. You can't accidently terminate your support agreement.
Features you are not entitled to should not work.
If the features are not locked and you got the media from HP who's fault is it that you accidently used an unlicensed feature? Not yours.
Check and make sure the source of the media is correct and explore and learn.
Have fun.

Re: HPUX 11i v1, operating environments
Usually HP sends a complete set of media at least twice a year to thier customers, if that is the case I recommend you to update the OS with the Enterprise OE.
Regards,
Jaime.

------------------------------------------------------------------
The media kit's first DVD(i think) contains:
HP-UX 11i v2 (B.11.23) DVD â Contains the HP-UX Operating System (OS), Operating Environments (OEs), required networking software, Update-UX, Ignite-UX, standard HP-UX patch bundles, and online diagnostics.

------------------------------------------------------------------
the concept is good.
creating only one media kit for all OE's and providing access to the required OE thru "code word" or "license". So no need to create four or five types of media kits.
