HPUX 11i V2 ( FOE sept 2006)

Hi,
I am installing HPUX 11i v2 ( FOE sept 2006) on Itanium server ( rx1620 , one cpu , MEM=1GB, INTERNAL DISK = 73GB).
Upon installing all filesets from first and second DVD , the session stopped at the following message :
" building a new kernel using the command : /usr/sbin/mk_kernel -f -o /stand/vmunix " ; building a new kernel for configuration 'import.config'.... "
NB : i interrupted the session (CTRL-C), i got the shell prompt(#) then i launched again "mk_kernel - o /stand/vmunix " ;
the procedure hanged again ( did not continue).
Please advise.

Do you see any error messages or WARNING before the "Build_Kernel" stage?
Check the selected disk using ioscan and diskinfo -v and dd from within the shell.

I had a similar problem on a PA-RISC server with HPUX 11.11 and it was IO problem 73GB disk installed in a DS2100 box with error message like vx_dataioerr.

Hi Sameer,

Thank you for your concern.

I tried the above cold installation on 2 new
rx1620 servers and the phase was suspended on both servers.
