hpux 11i v2 upgrade to v3. update or install?
I just received a couple of new rx6600 that shipped with 11i v2. Would it be best to upgrade v2 to v3 or complete a cold install of v3?
I would be moving from v2 HA-OE to v3 DC-OE.

Since they are brand new, I would just install from scratch. That way you can resize your LV's to the sizes you want.
I ALWAYS reinstall the OS on a new machine as I've always found HP's default LV sizes to be much too small and when I install I KNOW what has been installed.

Hi Mark:
In my opinion, cold-install. This is the cleanest and most direct way to build a new server. You also gain the ability to size your filesystems in the process.
Regards!
