HPUX 11i v3 not shown on exceed
Hi,
We seem to be experiencing problems when trying to detect the HP-UX 11i v3 from desktops running Windows XP and software such as Exceed and Putty. We are able to detect the servers loaded with HP-UX 11i v2 but not the version 3. Could you help in this regard.
Regards
Varun

Varun,
You want to connect CDE ? By default 11iv3 CDE is not installed. You need to install separately

Hey
CDE is not installed per default. Install it and check with:
$swlist | grep -i cde
CDE-English B.11.31 English CDE Environment

Re: HPUX 11i v3 not shown on exceed
Shalom Varun,
Steps,
/sbin/init.d/xfs start
#edit /etc/rc.config.d/xfs set the first variable to 1 to auto start the font server.
As noted above see the CDE is installed though it probabably is.
Last, Broadcast method of seeing the servers works less often now, because networking departments implement VLAN network configuration to limit the size of collision domains. Therefore you will need to directly connect to the system with Exceed and not look for an xdmp broadcast that may be blocked.
