I have question about the following things:
When you chose guided installation and in the Basis tab and when you go to the additional option You have few choices here:
System/Networking INfo and the available choices here are Current System Parameters and HP_UX save_config custom sys.
Can some one guide me what to choose here.
Also I wanna confirm if to the Clone option, I should choose true or false.
I am keeping the same layout of the vg00 as with the hpux server from which ignite image was created but there is some differences in Hardware, lan card etc.
Please give me some guidance in this regard.

SolutionIt really depends upon how the tape/backup was created in the first place.
but basically its asking you if you want to use the saved networking info created on the tape or you want to change it, i.e. different ip/subnet to the L class server?
With the clone option? you want to choose false as you are cloning to different hardware. You select true if it was another L class.
If you have lots of different hardware i/f's than the L class had, then the drivers should have been added to the kernel on the L class first, before doing the ignite backup.
Otherwise you will still have to add them all in afterwards and you may experience problems

Re: HPUX Installation Question
For same architecture, you choose true for clone option.

Re: HPUX Installation Question
"Import volume groups" and its possible values are true and false. What is this all about?
In my scenario, I am just recovering the vg00 from ignite backup, should I put true or false to this choice?

Re: HPUX Installation Question
importing volume groups refers to other volume groups which you may or may not have had? ie vg01,vg02. The L class may have had other vg's in use when the ignite image/recovery was taken.
if you want to just do an install/recovery of vg00 then this option should be false, as you are not importing another vg.
