HPUX LDAP-UX and 2003 ADS setup help!

Server: Windows 2003 Server ADS
Client: HPUX b.11.11

Installed LDAPUX on client with with no problem until we get to the proxy user DN. Also, we're getting a bind error. Trying to setup for over a week to no avail. Please someone help! Greatly appreciate it!

What is the proxy user DN syntax? We're taking the default.

Also, what's the step by step to setup proxy user in 2003 ADS?

We've tried many variations but no joy.

Refer the following document for step by step configuration of LDAP-UX client with MS Windows ADS.

You will get bind error if the DN credentials are either wrong or configuration error.

What you see in ldapsearch with Administrator DN? error?

Note that LDAP integration with a windows ADS server requires changes on the windows side of the house.

Thank you.

1. We're not using Kerberos.

2. We went through the step by step setup procedure IAW with the and the installation manual for the LDAPUX Client Services.

3. Client has all patches IAW updated installation manual.

4. Ethereal posts that proxy agent binds then drops it after a few seconds.

I'll post error messages tomorrow. Thanks again.

Additional notes:

a. Do we need to configure GCS? We have only one domain.

b. In ADS, we couldn't configure proxy user to READ msSFUxxxxids. We couldn't find the attribute when we followed the instructions. We installed most of the modules for SFU3.5, user mapping, nfs, etc. Users are mapped to /etc/passwd & /etc/groups. Where do we get the READ msSFUxxxid to install into the module or do we need to create it?

Dropped ADS and went with NIS+.
