HPUX page/swap description

I am looking for a "paper" on HPUX page/swap - how it works (vs. what I know, VMS), how to set it up, how to tune it. Thanks!

You may want to do a search on the knowledge database and or white papers.

If you are coming from a VMS background, you are going to be disappointed with the documentation of HPUX. Nobody comes close to the way DEC docuemented their systems.

On an 11.0 system there is a memory mgt white paper in /usr/share/doc. The file is "mem_mgt.txt", postscript version is "mem_mgt.ps". Also search the forum for HP-UX Performance Cookbook (by Stephen Ciullo) which is highly recommended. Finally I'm attaching a doc from HP Technical DB (DOCID=KBRC00001262), entitled "What is Swap and why does a system needs it" ? All these show cover you needs.
