HPUX V3 in rx2600 installation time

Hi , how long time take the installation of the HP-UX v3 in the old rx2600. I have seen that is more or less 8 hour , somebody have installed this version in other newer machine?

Approximately 3 hours, it depends of the system , mine is rx6600 , and actually the user guide for 11iv3 says that it could takes approx 2 - 3 hours.

The rx2600 is a little slow and might take longer than average.

I recently moved an rx2600 to 11i Version 2. A large number of firmware upgrades were required before the OS install worked.

From the http://itrc.hp.com website click the firmware database and make sure the rx2600 system firmware is up to date prior to doing the install.

Hi,

the install itself would take about 2 hours I guess - the bottleneck is the DVD drive.

But take care about the firmware requirements - the fw update could take much longer.

Yes Torsten helped us with our firmware upgrade.

Took twice as long as the server OS install. Figuring out the process took weeks. Though not full time.
