I/O Meter

Can anyone help me find a I/O Meter that works with HP-UX. I'm running 11.0 and 11.i. We use iometer on our NT machines and I would like to find an equivelant for the HP Machines.

Thanks

Re: I/O Meter

you can use commands like sar -u, sar -d iostat etc and filter out what you need.

Re: I/O Meter

Yes, but we are wanting to customize a packet based on work load.

Re: I/O Meter

customize a packet?

Could you be more specific here please. What parameters/values are you particularly interested in?

Maybe you are looking for some like iozone offers. www.iozone.org

Thanks.

Re: I/O Meter

We want to simulate x number of users with y amount of traffic to our SAN. We are interested in write speeds of drive (locally attached, ATA SAN, and FC SAN). Also interested in the line speed.

Re: I/O Meter

You could use iozone then also you could use measureware or get HP consulting engaged who can help define performance and throughputs through these various channels and help you scale them too.
