IBM LTO G4 + A6795A(B.11.11.09, PHSS_28509)+HP-UX 11.11
Dear all,
I have a performance issue for IBM LTO4.
when I tested "dd if=/dev/vg32/rlvol1 of=/dev/rmt/c112t0d0BESTnb bs=512k count=20480", backup speed is 60MB/sec.
But when I tested "dd if=/dev/vg32/rlvol1 of=/dev/null bs=512k count=20480", IO is 120MB/sec. I think something is wrong.
My configuration is HP-UX11.11+A6795A(B.11.11.09, PHSS_28509)+IBM LTO4(atdd 3.5.0.64).
I search requirement something on IBM site.
It has required HBA drive(B.11.11.09), so
I searched B.11.11.09 on ITRC, patch ID is PHSS_31326.
Current system is PHSS_28509. But PHSS_28509 has B.11.11.09.
When I saw symptoms about (SR:8606237897 CR:JAGae06940), there is issue related performance. Is This symptom related IBM LTO G4 performance?
For resolveing, I have to patch ?

Shalom,
Always a good idea to be patched to a reasonbly current bi-annual patch set.
I'm not sure you have a problem. The tape devices you are using are different, possibly resulting in different speed rates. Could be a display problem on the actual speed, recommend timing the jobs.
I'd go for any tape performance patchs, some are general and will effect all tape devices.
Looking for your device in the patch notes might narror the search too much.
