IBM shark disk devices are not showing up in HPUX
I have a N Class server fixed with fiber cards. Two of them connected to EMC and one connected to shark. One is idle. We are planning to move data from EMC to Shark. We got 41 disks/Luns allocated from the shark. Problem is i am able to see only 10 disk devices if i run ioscan. Remaining disks are missing.
I also have the below patches installed in my server
PHKL_29962 1.0 Fibre Channel Mass Storage Driver Patch
PHSS_26798 1.0 Tachyon TL Fibre Channel Driver Patch
Cards are A5158A 1 GB cards. I am really not sure what coule be the potential problem not allowing the disks to be shown.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Re: IBM shark disk devices are not showing up in HPUX
What devices are visible from a SAN is entirely up to how they are zoned at the SAN & at any fibre switches in between.
You should have your storage personnel verify that the SAN & switch are zoned such that the proper devices are visible to the system.

Re: IBM shark disk devices are not showing up in HPUX
fcmsutil /dev/t1
use real devices
insf -e
or
insf -C
fcmsutil should not show unitialized. If it does, its not plugged in or the lun assignment is not to the right World Wide Name(WWN).
