Icon doesn't display in gui console

One of the clients of my ignite server doesn't display as an icon. When installing I got an error:

Could not determine if the IUX Server support archives for the HP-UX release of the system: "newfnd". make_net_recovery may not work properly.

It said the client was added, but no icon. Attempting to try again gets the message that the client already exists.

I searched this forum but the only thing similar suggested enabling tftp, but that is for the ignite server not the client and didn't work anyway. I keep tftp disabled on all my ignite clients and they work fine.

Suggestions?

Try upgrading the ignite client software on your hp box.

What version of HP-UX you r running on your client ?

Upgrade your ignite client software manually on your hp box, remove /var/opt/ignite/clients/ from ignite server and try to add it again.

Re: Icon doesn't display in gui console

Removing the listing in clients allowed me to try again, but still no icon. Both the server and the client are running 4.2.110.

I guess my next step is to uninstall/reinstall ignite on the client.

Re: Icon doesn't display in gui console

Hi

I've got the same problem. The technical knowledge base advises the use of the "instl_adm -d" command to check the values that Ignite has assigned to server. I followed this route, and discovered that it had assigned the server addres as our Service Guard heartbeat address. I altered the parameter, but still have the problem. It may work for you though. Check the man page on instl_adm for full instructions.
