IDE on i2000 under HP-UX

Is it possible to use IDE hd on i2000 workstation as root or data disk?

Do you mean the itanium ZX2000 workstation.

As you can buy it with HP-UX and only a IDE (ATA) drive I suppose it can be used too.

No, I mean exactly i2000. I have it with one SCSI drive.
I tried to add IDE drive, but
HP-UX fails to load with it.
Installation CD also fails to start HP-UX kernel qith IDE drive attached.

Do you have a IDE controller in that workstation?

Yes, it contains integrated IDE controller, CD-RW is connected to it. Btw, Win XP works fine with IDE disk.
