Re: identifying disk in 2100

Hello

ioscan -fnH path/to/hardware.#.#

diskinfo /dev/dsk/c#t#d#

Does each disk in the 2100 have a status/activity light ? to identify the actual disk

dd if=/dev/dsk/c#t#d# of=/dev/null bs=1024k

You will see the activity light flashing away

Hope that helps

Re: identifying disk in 2100

hi,

the SCSI address is in the hardware path. Which SCSI address is assigned to which disk depends on your installation (see SCSI selector at the back).

If the disks are not to busy then you can launch "diskinfo" continiously on one of the disks, and simply look at the LED.

regards,
Thierry.
All unix flavours are exactly the same . . . . . . . . . . for end users anyway.

Re: identifying disk in 2100

HI

DS2100 is just box for disk.
Every disk have SUSCI ID.
You control this SCSI ID using switch.
use this link:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?locale=en_US&taskId=115&prodSeriesId=305087&prodTypeId=12169&objectID=lpg60011

Using switch to set position A,B or C you switch SCSI disk ID.
