IDS Agent 4.1
Does installing just the IDS agent software require a kernel change and reboot. I selected the agent software from the bundle and it automatically marked the IDS-KRN bundle as well.

Re: IDS Agent 4.1
try runing the swinstall on preview mode(-p) and analysis phase will tell you if there is a reboot required.
IDS-KRN might be a dependant and that is why it got selected. You may check the log file and it may tell that IDS-KRN is core requisite

Re: IDS Agent 4.1
Hi Bob -
If you are doing a fresh install of HIDS, then yes, a reboot is required when installing the agent software.
If you are upgrading the agent software from V3.x or V4.0, then no reboot is required.
See the Release Notes entry at http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-2109/ch02s07.html#babdfdjf

Re: IDS Agent 4.1
I remember now although it has been a little while since I've installed the HIDS client. I remember the reboot now. Thanks
