ignite installs for 11i problem

Hi all, I've created an ignite tape off a 5430 and am trying to build a partitioned 8400 with it. I keep getting a tftp error which I can break out of, but then it fails at the UI and says it can't build the system. We have used ignite all along with our 10.20 and 11.0 machines with no issues. I am at a different site with a different network scheme. Any ideas?

I'm getting the following error now "itool must exit, the /var/opt/ignite/INDEX file is empty"
I've checked this file on the original server and it has the following entries:

Try upgrading your Ignite-UX on the source server and try again. I recall there was a bad Ignite-UX release that was bundled with 11.11.

Hmm.. then that's the latest one I believe. How many times have you tried? And what command are you using to get an ignite tape off the 54xx?

Mine is simply:

/opt/ignite/bin/make_tape_recovery -I -Av

And I've been successful in getting Ignite Tape Backups to ignite/install/restore onto rp84xx and Superdome...

The hardware is radically different.

I've been successful within server lines, ie taking a 5450 tape and installing it on a 5470 in the HP performance center.

I would suggest you create a golden image, which is less hardware dependent. Then you can boot the 8400 off its internal NIC card and build it off the software image.

we are running the following command:

/opt/ignite/bin/make_tape_recovery -v -A

the problem I am running into right now is I'm at an HP site testing our DR capabilities. We sent them the tapes to have the systems prebuilt and they couldn't get the ignites to work. First it comes up looking for a tftp server and then it errors on the itools section. We've gone to trying to recover to a 5400 with the same issues.

okay I found something that might be causing my issues:

the following line is in the INSTALLFS file:
control_from_server=true

when we try to recover the system it we got a message saying :
Switching from Local tape/disk source to network because control_from_server=true is set in the INSTALLFS file.

Is there a way to over ride this option when trying to rebuild this machine at a site where access to the ingite server is not available?
