Ignite issue....2 step media recovery...

Hi guys,
why do i get this message alwayzz when tkng ignite backup......????

what can i do to avoid it in future..since evrytime i wont be looking for bootable DVD/CD.... ????

What server model do you have?

Some does not support boot from tape!

Consider to use LAN boot instead (ignite server based).

Please go thru this link: http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-4825/5992-4825.pdf ( Page no:11 ). It will tell you native tape boot supported servers.

If you want to avoid using CD/DVD every time for booting, you could think for booting thru lan (booting from ignite server)

Your system is able to boot directly from the tape - anyway, it takes a lot of time to boot from.

The warning is pretty normal, just in case.

The Ignite backup version which you are having support directly tape boot.
The WARNING's were introduced since most of the server require minimum firmware for direct tape boot. Blade server always require two step boot process.
In your case, you are having rx6600
SCSI Tape Boot/Recovery (Minimum Required System Firmware) : ANY

Hence you could go for a directly boot from Tape. Hence you can ignore the errors.
