Ignite - kernel & memory
Hi,
There're some considerations when installing Ignite ?
I'm having some performance issues, actually when I run the make_tape_recovery it just doesn't do anything ...and I need to kill the process, etc.
What could be the issue, shared memory, CPU ???
Thank you,
Marc'0

Re: Ignite - kernel & memory
Examine log files in /var/opt/ignite/recovery/* for possible errors.

Re: Ignite - kernel & memory
Examine the system when it is running.
If you are asking what mem and CPU are while you are running it, unless you give all of us access to your system we cannot say.
Review the CPU and mem while you are running the process. Maybe you will find the answer. If not post the info here and we will try to help. (without info we cannot help)
Here is some more ideas:
Are you on the latest version of ignite ? ( you did not say)
What version of OS are you on ? ( you did not say)
What type of tape drive do you have ? ( you did not say)
What type of HW are do you have ? ( you did not say)
What was the command line that you used ? ( you did not say )
How large is your /dev/vg00 configuration and is the additional non-OS software there ? ( you did not say)
Post some info and we will help.
