Re: Ignite on IA64

Hello Alex,

Well Ignite-UX for IA64 is "coming soon to an IA64 near you". Just specifically when I do not know, and this is some speculation on my part. Actually portions of it were required to be ported over when HP-UX 11.20 was released. The installation program for 11.20 is actually from Ignite. I would look for more functionality with future releases of HP-UX 11.22/23. There are a lot of hurdles yet to over come before complete implementation can be achieved. VxVM, IPv6, etc. are all new to Ignite and must be dealt with, so I do not think that you will see a full implementation all at once. It will probably be in stages the same way the original Ignite program was developed.

Thanks for participating in the forums,

Re: Ignite on IA64

Hello Alex,

I noted by your profile that you have been a member since January and have only awarded points on 19 of 62 responses received. Did any of these answers help you? If so you need to award points to the answers as specified in the forum. Points are not just so that people can have lots of them or get funny hats. They help others determine which answer was most helpful in resolving your problem.

Please remember that you're asked to review and rate the answers you receive to each question you post. When you return to the IT resource center forums and view your replies, please assign points to each response you receive. When you're logged in, this will appear as a button next to each response.

This is a critical feedback mechanism and ONLY YOU can rate each answer you've received. So, please take a moment to make the community knowledge being shared here that much richer. As you assign points, please keep in mind the scale that applies:

N/A:
The answer was simply a point of clarification to my original question
1- 3:
The answer didn't really help answer my question but thanks for your assistance!
4- 7:
The answer helped with a portion of my question, but I still need some additional help.
8-10:
The answer has solved my problem completely! Now I'm a happy camper!

Re: Ignite on IA64

Hi Martin,

I have to admit, I feel rather bad at the lack of pointing that I've been able to do. I normally point straight away and accordingly. However, I have a rather bad connection to the forums, through my corporate proxy and firewall, which means that when I go to assign points I get a 404. I do try to go back, but sometimes my connection does not allow me back until 24 hours later, by which stage I have forgotten about the replies to my question.

Am I correct in pointing the most valid and usefull answer, or should I be pointing everyone that gives a reply?

Apologies for the apparently lack of consideration.

AG

Re: Ignite on IA64

Hello Alex,

Don't be to hard on yourself. We are just trying to put more emphasis on getting folks to give points when appropriate so that everyone knows which answers solved the problem. Many times points aren't given because someone is new to the forums or just a misunderstanding as to how they are used. Use the scale as follows:

1- 3 Points:
The answer didn't really help answer my question but thanks for your assistance!

4- 7 Points:
The answer helped with a portion of my question, but I still need some additional help.
8-10 Points:
The answer has solved my problem completely! Now I'm a happy camper!

I try and award to everyone who took time out to try and help. Thanks for correcting this.

Martin
