My servers are running with IgniteUX-B3.5.x and I see its quite old.
If I install the latest igniteUX software C.6.7.x, will that take a reboot of my servers ? I am seeing the upgradation need some pax patches, how abt this patches ..reboot ??
When I have the latest IgniteUX (C.6.7.x ) will that cover all hardware platforms ( V -class, rp 5400, 8400 etc )?
Thanks

SolutionThere is no reboot necessary nor involved with an Ignite software installation or upgrade.
You absolutely should install the latest 'pax' patch. This does not require a reboot, either.
Yes, the latest version of Ignite will support all hardware platforms.

Re: Ignite Upgrade
I am sorry, I don't see any reason to assign a point less than 10.... :-)

Re: Ignite Upgrade
You did assign 10.
Note on Ignite: To upgrade
1) Back up any custom configurations especially on any Ignite boot servers.
2) swremove the old version
3) swinstall the new version
Ignite is not like Samba, which can be installed over the top of the old version. You must remove the old version prior to installing the new.
Good Luck,

Re: Ignite Upgrade
SEP, if you look at Ignite FAQ 9-3 you will see that removing a previous version of Ignite before installing a later version is generally deemed *unnecessary*. My personal experience follows the FAQ, although I accept that your's may differ:
