Ignite Ux Backup with software depot

Only core os will be taken as image and all other software will be put in depot which neeeds to be carried out at post installation.

creating the Software depots for dumping the software and patch bundles.

This will help us for the post installations after the Image deploy.

What is the actual question, restore OS from ignite and then Install apps and patches from depot sounds right, although you could create a Golden Image of the system you want to install and do it all at once.

You should be able to create software depots using the swcopy command, and then reference those depots within ignite so they are available as additional software. I have done this in the past

Thanks a lot for the immediate replies and assigne major points.

I wanted still more clarity of how to do it.

1.We are taking the golden image using mak_sys_image (only core os and rest patches and application to be placed in depot). .

1.How to create the software depot and spool the applications and patches for the post installation.(By default only core os will be installed and rest all to be carried out during post installtion using depot .).
