Hello,
The only thing I need from Ignite/UX is ability to prepare recovery tape by 'make_recovery' (and possible booting from the tape in emergency case).
When installing Ignite via swinstall, it proposes large packages that require me > 50 MB even in minimum configuration.
Question.
What files are sufficient to be copied for using local 'make_recovery'?
Thanks in advance for your comments!
BR,
Mihails

Solution
There is no way to just install make_recovery or make_tape_recovery and its required components. I think it would be too hard to figure out exactly which files you need for it to be worth it.
If you are short of space in /opt, make sure you just download the version of Ignite that you need for the version of the OS you are running and not the ALL OS LEVEL versions.
I suppose if you REALLY wanted to work it at, you could start with getting make_recovery or make_tape_recovery and then keep trying to run it until you find all the components you need for it to run successfully. To me that is more trouble than its worth though.

Re: Ignite/UX: minimum installation
Hi,
Minimum ignite files could be more than 50 MB
It will be 60 MB for 10.20 and 62 MB for 11.x version. Make more space for Ignite and it's better to have make_recovery tape for all your unix servers.
You can download latest version from this link
http://software.hp.com/products/IUX/download.html
the command for make_recovery would be
/opt/ignite/bin/make_recovery -A -C -v -d ${NTAPE}1>> ${LOG_FILE} 2>> ${LOG_FILE}
NTPAE is DLT/DDS Drive.

Re: Ignite/UX: minimum installation
You could install it and then delete some files that are not needed.
Such as in the /opt/ignite/data directory, there are files for 10.01, 10.10, and 10.20, delete the ones you don't need. This will free up a few meg.
If you are this close to being out of space, then more space is most likely needed anyway.
