Ignite UX recovery Tapes
Some of my servers have moved to a remote location recently. Before the move i
used to create make_recovery tapes. But now i'm not sure how to proceed. SHould
i create one of the servers here as a server and use make_net_recovery. Let me
know what needs to be done.

Re: Ignite UX recovery Tapes
Maintaining a boot server can sometimes be more troublesome than valuable,
especially if the remote servers are VERY remote. You probably don't want to be
attempting boots over a WAN connection, especially if you have a "server down"
critical situation. I would rather put my trust in my local DAT drive than have
to depend on a WAN connection and a remote boot server in another part of the
city/country.
It's best to keep the make_recovery tapes with the servers they were built on.
Doing so makes recovery faster and easier, whether done by a local system admin
or by your friendly HP CE.

Re: Ignite UX recovery Tapes
I fully agree with Neil. If possible keep the tape with the machine and create
recovery tapes remotely. Also think of the time you need to recover a system
over a WAN link. You will need to find out a procedure to recover the system
though. Is there anybody over there that you would trust to do the recovery
(eventually guided by you or a colleague over the phone)?
