Ignited Image Compatibility For HP-UX Itanium-based Servers

Can I use the ignited image created from rx4640 running HP-UX 11i v2.3 to re-ignite a rx8640 server ?

If you have the latest enhancement patches the answer is probably.

Ignite cloning "like" equipment works. If the models are too far apart or have complete different processor sets, io boards, etc.. then you may have a problem.

I would say in this case beings the rx8640 is cell based and the rx4640 is not then you may have a problem. But you won't know until you try ( or someone chimes in that has done it successfully ).

AFAIK, it does not work. I have very few servers on RX series and not much chance to get this tested.
