inetd problem om hp-ux 10.20
We have hp-ux 10.20 running on HP9000/735 . After box started inetd eats as much processor power as it can. After
inetd -k
inetd
it runs ok. Did I miss any patch ?

Re: inetd problem om hp-ux 10.20
Are you sure it's inetd only ...?
whats in your syslog.log ?
I see inetd take 10-15 seconds where it pegs out the CPU at 98-99%,
then goes back to normal. When I executed inetd -l I got the following
error message:
/usr/dt/bin/rpc.ttdbserver[1840]: rpc.ttdbserverd version (1.1)
does not match the version () of the database tables. Please
install an rpc.ttdbserverd version (or greater).
After enabling inetd security for the RPC service ttdbserver, why does
inetd grab a significant part of the CPU and log errors (inetd -l) in
syslog?
The tooltalk database/naming service ttdbserver relies on a special
undocumented inetd state called swait, which is specified in the
inetd.conf file. This state is not subject to the usual HP security
file checks. System administrators should not place entries
referring to the ttdbserver service in the /var/adm/inetd.sec file
because they will be ignored.
In this case, rebooting and starting the CDE session resulted in inetd
NOT grabbing CPU as before.
SR # [5003337543/STARS/English] inetd security for the RPC service ttdbserver,
inetd grabs cpu. ttdbserver release notes have been updated and
inetd has been fixed so as to provide no support for ttbserver
in inetd.sec.
I'd install the latest CDE patches if applicable ?
