Install of June 2003 11i on D330 No Lan Installed

Just installed latest release of 11i on my D330, and for some reason there are no nics detected. The lan2 driver was not built into the kernel, so I put it in, along with btlan, and rebooted. Still am not picking up any nics in sam, lanscan, or ioscan.
What can be causing this?

Thanks,
Gus

More than likely it means that the NIC card is not properly installed or dead.

You might try another card, or go back to the application cd's and install the lan drivers again.

It is possible you excluded the installation of lan drivers in your initial installation.

So it does not show in ioscan output ....

If not it is likely to be a hardware problem not software. An install will attempt by default add the necessary drivers as long as the hardware has been recognised. Missing drivers etc, and the hardware will be shown as being unclaimed/unknown, not nothing at all. How many NICS have you got in there, and what OS level version did you have before ?
Anyone for a Mutiny ?

Re: Install of June 2003 11i on D330 No Lan Installed

It had 11.00 on it before runnign fine. The system has one nic onboard, and 2 2 port cards installed. I have checked that they are seated correctly. I will try to install 11.00 and see if the problem shows up there also.
Is there any issue with running 11i, latest release on a D class server? I know it only supports 32 bit, but is the hardware too old for the OS now? I doubt that can be. Not like I'm trying to install Windows XP on an old P100 with 32MB ram.

Thanks for the responces. I'll be assigning points soon.
